What we are watching for is Iran and another country
(which looks to be Turkey) to push to the west, north
and south. In early 2016 Iran and Turkey were supporting
opposite sides in the Syrian war while also claiming to be
fighting the common foe often referred to as ISIS
(or Daesh).
It has been so interesting to see How Iran and Turkey
have come to unite much more closely.
We can much more easily see Iran and Turkey pushing
to the west, north, and south.

Turkey's Jarablus operation scorecard
"Barely a month after the traumatic July 15 failed coup attempt, Turkey launched a military operation in Syria last week.
Supported and armed by Turkey, Free Syrian Army units swiftly took control of border town Jarablus, pushing the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) southwest towards al-Bab region and advancing towards the south and west."
"Turkey’s ground incursion into northern Syria, which Ankara claims is mainly aimed at fighting Daesh, had been in the making for over two years, a Turkish official has said.
The so-called Operation Euphrates Shield began on Wednesday featuring Turkish warplanes and special ground forces to rid the border area of Daesh terrorists and Kurdish forces, according to Ankara.
On Friday, Turkey sent four more tanks across the border into the Syrian city of Jarabulus where the sound of explosions rang out.
The offensive was launched in coordination with the US, which has been purportedly fighting the Takfiri terror group since 2014.
The Turkish government had “been working on a ground incursion for more than two years” which was “delayed” by several factors, the official told the French news agency AFP on Thursday."

"Syria has denounced Turkey’s recent military incursion into the Syrian territory, backed by the US-led coalition, saying the offensive violates the Arab country's sovereignty.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned Turkey’s military operation in a statement released on Wednesday, Syrian media reported."
"The reaction came hours after Turkish special forces, tanks and jets backed by planes from the US-led coalition launched their first coordinated offensive in Syria.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the operation in northern Syria was launched in the early hours of Wednesday morning "against terror groups" such as Daesh and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) - a US-backed Kurdish group based in Syria - that "constantly threaten" Turkey."
