THE FIVE FOUNDATIONAL STEPS TO BUILDING SUPERPOWERS WITHIN AND MIGHTY SHIELDS ALL ABOUT
Having covered essential components that are part of the formula for building superpowers within and mighty shields all about, it’s time to talk about the five foundational steps I use to build superpowers within and mighty shields all about... to stay connected or reconnect and to learn… and… to do… the will of the Father:
Step 1 – Through Christ, with Christ, give all your heart, soul, and mind to Heavenly Father.
Step 2 – Recognize and love the new you… The temple president of a temple of God!
Step 3 – Prayerfully know the Father’s will and do it.
Step 4 – Serve others to help them feel Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost.
Step 5 – Use everything that happens to remind us to stay or get back to Spiritually centered. Find the lessons… the growth blessings. Life happens for me… not to me.
Let’s take a closer look at them:
Step 1 – Through Christ, with Christ, give all your heart, soul, and mind to Heavenly Father. Jesus declared:
16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(John 3:16-17)
And Jesus taught:
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
(John 15:1, 4-5)
Through Jesus we are allowed the privilege to ask Heavenly Father to accept all our heart, soul, and mind. Through Jesus we can progress in keeping the first great commandment.
“…Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
(Matthew 22:37)
Heavenly Father created your spirit, your Heavenly Father loves you perfectly, your Heavenly Father knows you perfectly, your Heavenly Father wants you in his kingdom forever! So much so… he gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to make a sacrifice… The Father had Jesus pay a debt Jesus did not owe… for a debt you, we, could not pay. Jesus was in such excruciating pain he bled from every pore. Just hours later, Jesus died on the cross. By the Father, Jesus broke the bands of death for you, all of us, and was resurrected.
This same Father, who, with Christ, created Heaven and earth, our Father… is spending his time… personally… working with you… willing to take all you have… forgiving your sins, remove your regrets and worldly sorrows, and give you guidance on the stewardships you are assigned. I love Step 1. What a beautiful step to accept. If you haven’t done so, take Step 1. Dive in! It’s great!!!
Talk to Heavenly Father, through Jesus, like the perfect father, friend, almighty God he is. Open up to him. He knows you better than you know yourself. He’s all loving, caring, powerful, and so much more and… Heavenly Father, and Jesus, and the Holy Ghost wants you home with them forever.
Step 2 – Recognize and love the new you… a temple president of a temple of God!
Loving yourself is a critical part of the second great commandment.
“…Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
(Matthew 22:37-39)
Having given your all to the Father, the body is now his temple and you are the temple president.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
(I Corinthians 3:16-17)
You are the temple president. You are responsible for what goes in and out of the temple... what goes in and out of the heart, soul, and mind. We get to treat our temple with reverence, respect, and care… as guided by Heavenly Father. It’s God’s! Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost has forgiven our sins, they want us to use godly sorrow to remove the regrets, and worldly sorrows. They want their temple clean. Praise them for the new clean temple they made you temple president over. It’s easy to love your temple! It’s easy to love your new self!
Having done Step 2, you should be very excited to talk to others about how wonderful Step 1 and 2 are. Your excitement and desire to share Step 1 and 2 with others is the segue to Step 3.
Here’s a suggestion regarding Step 2: Take a picture of yourself and write things you love about the new you, the new temple of God… how you feel about being the temple president of this new temple… how you plan on keeping that temple holy.
Step 3 – Prayerfully know the Father’s will and do it.
Having done steps 1 and 2, you are already connected to Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost, and are ready to prayerfully know their will and do it. It is so powerfully assuring to know you are doing the will of the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. In this life it’s tempting to just do what you want or to do what others want you to do. It’s easy to just follow what makes the most money or what’s the least amount of effort.
However, unless we are valiantly trying to do the will of the Father, Jesus at the judgment day may tell us to depart from him.
21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
(Matthew 7:21-23)
Jesus wants us to have the blessings of knowing and doing the Father’s will. Jesus is forgiving. Let’s not try to see how slothful we can be and still be accepted into the kingdom of God. Let’s be as valiant as we can.
To whatever level of details you are guided to, prayerfully plan out the day and then… Get going. Feel for the still small voice… Here’s an example about the prophet Elijah hearing the still small voice:
11 And he [the Lord God] said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
(1 Kings 19:11-13 – “[ ]” and bold added)
I love the still small voice. I’m so glad it’s not a loud annoying voice telling me what to do.
We can’t always be in a quiet place. We are not supposed to stop praying when it’s noisy. Yet, we should always be listening for the still small voice and be ready to answer.
Jesus taught about what he called the Comforter... doesn’t that sound comfortable? The Comforter is the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the still small voice we are to listen for and listen to because the Holy Ghost is the messager, the reminder, teacher, and testifier of Heavenly Father and Christ.
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
(John 14:23-26)
And remember... Jesus said and did nothing except that which the Father had told or showed him.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
(John 5:19-20)
Do you have a tendency to quickly look to see who is calling? Do you quickly answer the calls from those you want to talk to? I was reminded; I need to answer Heavenly Father’s, Jesus’, and the Holy Ghost’ conference calls quickly and give them my undivided attention. I need to avoid needless interruptions when talking to them.
Do you listen to that still small voice and quickly obey? Keep a prayer in your heart, pray always and always pray.
Listen for the audibles along the way. By keeping a prayer in your heart, when you get a phone call, text, or something, and someone asks you to do something that changes your plan, ask God what you should do.
Jesus’ days seemed to be interrupted often with multitudes of people or an individual asking questions or seeking a miracle. It’s important to plan… yet, again, plan on staying in the Spirit no matter what!
The first great commandment helps us to weigh our options as to what to do… good, better, best… and the first and last test is… is it the will of the Father?
For those of you who may be like me back in 1995, where I began choosing between bad, less bad, good, better, and best… keep praying! As many of us can witness, the day will come… when you are staying spiritually centered… and… you can appreciate where you are, at the moment, knowing… Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost wants you there at that moment. They knew long before… what you are experiencing at that moment. They knew long before… the opportunities for growth you would have… at that moment. You have arrived at being on the path they want you on. You can be thankful and use the moment (good or bad) to grow closer to them. I love this step of knowing and doing the will of the Father!
When I find myself in a tough situation, I quickly review if I have been following the Spirit… If I have, I smile… knowing… I’m on their path. Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost, knew I would be in this situation… while I was doing their will… I am on the path they want me to be on… they have a way forward for me while staying Spiritually centered.
If I find I had stepped away from being spiritually centered and then found myself in a crisis, I might pray saying ‘Heavenly Father, you know my heart. You know I’ve been trying very hard to be Spiritually centered. Sorry, I slipped and got into this situation… you knew I would be in this situation. Please forgive me and help me. I promise to try harder to stay connected and Spiritually centered and on your path.’
5 ¶ Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
Our heart counts. Our effort counts.
Step 4 – Serve others to help them feel Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost.
The other part of the second great commandment is to love thy neighbour.
“…Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
(Matthew 22:37-39)
Help others to feel Heavenly Father’s, Jesus’, and the Holy Ghost’ love, through you, your love, your service, your example.
We don’t need others to build our self-esteem, Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost does that. We are to help others and, in the process, hope they will build superpowers within and might shields all about.
If someone does not appreciate our efforts to help them… we can still find joy and satisfaction in knowing we did our best. We did it to do the will of the Father and out of love for the person we served.
Step 5 – Use everything that happens to remind us to stay or get back to Spiritually centered. Find the lesson… the growth blessing. Life happens for me… not to me.
Staying Spiritually centered or getting back to Spiritually centered is the moment by moment focus. Use all the events, good and bad, and all the people to help remind you to keep Spiritually centered.
As you have seen up to this point, the price for not having a oneness with Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost is too great... the pricee can be eternity. Yet, the price could include things we would rather avoid.
Why hang-out in the dark area... no fun land... you might think of it as. Why do that and stand the risk of not being welcomed in the kingdon of God? Some people hanging out in no fun land can be laughing and having a good time. However, it’s fleeting. It’s not the wholesome joy we get by doing things the Lord’s way.
Let’s take a look at how you can know you are on track. It’s so important to have a confirmation you are on Jesus’ list of being welcomed into the kingdom of God. That’s a big part of making a day... each day... a great day. When you can go to bed at the end of the day knowing you are loved, blessed, and on track for the kingdom of God... that’s a victory day!
