A look at common interpretation errors of Daniel chapter 11:5-6

Some claim...
the kings referenced in...
Daniel 11 verses 5-6 are

king Ptolemy II Philadelphus
(285-246 B.C.),
and King Antiochus II Theos
(261-246 B.C.).

I put this claim in the category of:
Slicing, dicing, cherry-picking,
and stuffing scriptures and historic events.
Here’s why:

Let's read Daniel 11:2-6

Notice how it reads as a succession of kings.
Notice at the end of verse 2 and
the beginning of verse 3,
there are no indications of
skipping kings and about 100 years
and changing the focus from
Persia kings to a Grecia king
as pointed out on the previous page.

2 And now will I shew thee the truth.
Behold, there shall stand up yet
three kings in Persia; and
the fourth shall be far richer
than they all: and by his strength
through his riches
he shall stir up all against
the realm of Grecia.

3 And a mighty king shall stand up,
that shall rule with great dominion,
and do according to his will.

4 And when he shall stand up,
his kingdom shall be broken,
and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven;
and not to his posterity,
nor according to his dominion which he ruled:
for his kingdom shall be plucked up,
even for others beside those.

5 ¶ And the king of the south shall be strong,
and one of his princes;
and he shall be strong above him,
and have dominion;
his dominion shall be a great dominion.

6 And in the end of years
they shall join themselves together;
for the king’s daughter of the south
shall come to the king of the north
to make an agreement:
but she shall not retain the power of the arm;
neither shall he stand, nor his arm:
but she shall be given up,
and they that brought her,
and he that begat her,
and he that strengthened her
in these times.

In pages 1 and 2, many points
of errors in the common
interpretation have been
pointed out.
There are five additional points
of errors in the common
interpretation to point out
in verses 4-6:

A) Between the end of verse 4 and
the beginning of verse 5
there is no indication of
skipping kings and about 40 years.
One of the kings skipped was
King Ptolemy I Soter
who begain ruling
Egypt in 305 BC, about
18 years after the death
of King Alexander the Great!
Yet, the interpretation by some
skip this king and focus on his son!

From verses 4 and 5 we do see:

B) The king of the south has a prince
who becomes the king of the north.

-

6 And in the end of years...

C) they [the two kings mentioned above]
shall join themselves together;

D) for the king’s daughter
of the south shall come to
the king of the north
[who was a prince of the king of the south]
to make an agreement:

E) but she shall not retain
the power of the arm;
neither shall he stand
[the king of the south],
nor his arm:
but she shall be given up,
and they that brought her,
and he [the king of the south]
that begat her,
and he that strengthened her
in these times.

What do some people believe
about the kings and daughter
mentioned above?

Some people believe
the kings and daughter
mentioned above reference:

Berenice, daughter of Egypt’s
Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-246 B.C.),
married Syria’s King Antiochus II Theos
(261-246 B.C.).

I put this claim in the category of:
Slicing, dicing, cherry-picking,
and stuffing scriptures and historic events.
Here’s why:

Here’s the problems with that interpretation:

1st - Connecting verses 5 and 6
the king of the north is (was)
the prince of the king of the south.
Using their interpretation...
that was never the case.

THAT FACT, along with the two previous pages,
should completely end the lagitimacy
of their interpretation.

2nd - In their interpretation...
they don’t use the original kings
of the kingdom of the north and
the kingdom of the south.
They use the sons (the second kings
of the kingdom of the north
and the kingdom of the south).

ANOTHER FACT that should completely
end the lagitimacy of their interpretation.

3rd - In their interpretation...
The daughter of the king of the south
does marry the king of the north.
Agreement made!
If that’s an agreement that was meant
by the prophecy.
To me, the 4th point makes it seem clear
that the agreement is not made.

4th - In their interpretation...
this part of verse 6 was not fulfilled:
but she shall not retain the power of the arm;
neither shall he stand [the king of the south],
nor his arm: but she shall be given up,
and they that brought her,
and he [the king of the south] that begat her,
and he that strengthened her in these times.

The king of the south did stand.
The king of the south’s army was not killed.
She was not given up.
They that brought her,
and he [the king of the south] that begat her,
and he that strengthened her
in these times were not given up.

To me, the 4th point makes the
right interpretation clear
that the agreement is not made.

To me, the interpretation
reads that she is killed,
and those who brought her
are killed and for sure
her father the king of the south is killed.
Yet, in their interpretation
she was not soon killed and
those who brought her
and her father, who was the
king of the south was not killed
in that event.

Not a match!!!

Berenice, daughter of Egypt’s
Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-246 B.C.),
married Syria’s King Antiochus II Theos (261-246 B.C.).

Antiochus divorced his wife to marry Berenice.
Later that divorced wife murdered Berenice,
her baby son, and even Antiochus
by poisoning him.
Thus, she brought her own son,
Seleucus II Callinicus, to the throne.

Their interpretation only works if there is a lot of:
Slicing, dicing, cherry-picking,
and stuffing scriptures and historic events.

Daniel chapter 11 kings are not about
ancient times...
they are about our day!

We are witnessing it’s fulfillment
prophetic point by prophetic point!

Daniel chapter 11 is thee foundational chapter
out of all the Bible for organizing
the prophetic events of our day!

Like Joseph of Egypt who used
prophetic information and used
the years of plenty to prepare for
the lean years...

We too can now know the general
order prophetic events play out and
use that insight along with
the times we are in to prepare
for the times we will soon be in.

We are on to something!
Something BIG!

Use this link below to go back to
the home page and let's use
a more correct interpretation to
organize the prophetic events of our day.
